| HISTORY OF THE COMPANY |

The company was founded in 1878 on the ground where once was a village Dabrowka
located in Piotrkow Province near Lodz. It was owned by Ernst Leonhardt, Woelker and Girbardt. Since 1905 - the factory worked as a Joint Stock Company manufacturing worsted yarns, wool cloth and woven fabrics. As years passed, numerous changes have been introduced so far as organisation of the company was concerned. |

During World War II the factory was occupied by the nazis and used as
an aircraft assemblying shop.
After the nationalization from 1945 till 1950 the company was no more self-dependent but became a branch of No 6 Wool Processing Factory that was located in 3/5 Lakowa Street. In 1952 the factory became independent as No13 Lodz Wool Processing Mill. In 1970 the name - "ARELAN" Worsted Spinning Mill was adopted. At that time employment reached 2800 people. The factory manufactures worsted yarns made from wool ad wool-like fibres, the product for processing is applied in weaving and knitting. It also produces hand knitting yarns for individual, retail customers. |

In 1990 "ARELAN" was appointed to National Investment Funds and
since then it has become a Joint-Stock Company with majority of shares owned by employees. The restructurization of the company performed in years 1996-2001 resulted in reduction of redundand land and buildings to a minimum, indispensable for production. At present, the employment has reached 175 people. Share capital - PLN 797.3 thousands. Reserves - PLN 6503.8 thousands. VAT No.-PL 7240000368 |
